Good Day all , welcome back ,lets get cooking . Today is pulled pork day and doesn’t love good pulled pork . In this economy today it is not easy to always afford the nicest cuts of pork to use,but that is the nice thing about pork ,you can use any cut for pulled pork . In this recipe I will be starting with a whole frozen pork loin.
This Loin was a bit too big for my Slow cooker so i started it in my electric roasting pan ,as you can see it barely fit in there. Now i prepped it with a pork rub that i like and as always a jar of unsweetened apple sauce(in this case, a pkg of frozen homemade apple sauce),set the electric roaster at 225*F, cover and let roast for 4 hrs (remember were starting from frozen at 11 am). Nothing to do but wait ? Wrong. It’s time to make the buns , mmmmmm yeast buns !! Who doesn’t remember the smell of grandma’s homemade bread and buns. For the buns I found an online recipe called, 30 Minute Dinner Rolls. I was skeptical of course, but gave it a go and it was good .I shall now share it with you .
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons warm water
1/3 cup oil
2 tablespoons active dry yeast
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 1/2 cups flour (either bread flour or allpurpose
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2. In the bowl of your stand mixer, combine the warm water, oil, yeast, and sugar. Allow the
mixture to rest for 15 minutes.
3. Mix 2 cups of the flour, the salt, and the egg into the yeast mixture using a dough hook. Add the
remaining 1 1/2 cups flour 1/2 cup at a time.
4. Shape dough into 12 balls and place in a 9 x 13 pan. Let dough rest for 10 minutes.
5. Bake for 10 minutes or until tops are just golden brown.

Thanks Real Mom Kitchen for the tasty recipe, obviously I made bigger buns and used a pizza stone but otherwise followed the recipe exactly and have made them a few more times since then. The nice part about using an electric roaster and slow cookers is that your oven is freed up to bake your buns .
3 O’Clock is fast approaching , still lots to do , we will have to pre-heat the slow cooker and we cant do it empty, around 2 pm i put 2 full bottles of my favorite BBQ sauce into the slow cooker and set it to high, covered it, and let it sit till I was ready to add the pork.
Yeah, the clock has struck 3 , and i have to apologize for being a dumb ass and forgot to take pictures here. Fingers crossed take the lid off the roaster and test the pork loin with two forks gently pulling away from each other. The meat should just fall apart as it did for me. I lifted the loin out of the roaster in 3 large pieces and placed them into the slow cooker and pulled them apart using the 2 large meat forks. Once it is all pulled and thoroughly sauced( you may need to add sauce if the mixture is to thick). Technically, you could serve it at this point, but I put the lid on the Slow Cooker and let it go for another 2 hours. Serve on your fresh baked buns .

4-5 lbs pork , 1 large jar of apple sauce, 2-3 bottles BBQ sauce , rub or seasonings your choice and lots of time
